reminds of a time someone at work asked me what "religion" I was. I said "I'm a Christian." Then they were like, "no, but what RELIGION are you?" and I was like, "I'm a Christian, that's my religion." I knew what they wanted but I wasn't gonna give it to them. But after a couple more exchanges like that they finally wore me down and I sheepishly said "...I'm a methodist."
well i always gave them this replie when they asked me ignorantly over and over what religon i was..i would simply say..."ummmm...you mean waht denomination am i....i am lutheran" and then came the what is a denomination..and id have to educate them on how denominations are like branches on a tree that come from the main truck i.e "idea".
I'm a library paraprofessional and occasional theology instructor at a liberal arts college. I teach folks how to do academic research efficiently and throughly, and I teach Christian theology at the college level and in churches. I hold the Master of Applied Theology from the University of Oxford.

I'm going to try to believe that he took Jesse to mean he was a part of the Christian Church/Disciples of Christ tradition. I really, really am.
Whatever gets you through the night, Darrell.
Hehe.
That was probably it...
I've often seen the word "religion" used interchangeably with "denomination" in Christian circles. Interesting.

Yah, that's totally weird. I always wonder what they think they mean by the word.

It's right up there with my other favorite, "Are you Catholic or are you Christian?" Argh!
"Neither, I'm an Episcopalian." Ha.
