Saturday Evening after Ash Wednesday
Remember that you are dust, and to dust you will return.
The Holy Spirit whispers to us in the prayers of the Church. This liturgy wraps around us like a thick, soft blanket. It makes us warm. Perhaps it smothers us...? It guards us, and carries us close to the heart of God.
We hear that we really are safe. We are safe, because it really is alright to die.
May the all-powerful Lord grant us a restful night and a peaceful death.
Amen.

Best prayer I've heard in a while...
Which BCP is that? I'm used to "May Almighty God grant us a peaceful night and a perfect end."
excellent post.
Thanks, guys.
That last line is from the Night Prayer found in the Roman Catholic Liturgy of the Hours.
Wow. I really liked that a lot. I like relating liturgy to a warm blanket. Remember our Easter vigil? That's what that made me think of.
Hey, I'm with you, man. Thanks.
