Let's Get Interactive

1 Christmas

So I look at my visitor stats and wonder sometimes how many regular readers I have. Some of you I know and others I "e-know" because we are frequent commenters on one another's blogs or IM or e-mail. Yeah, we're big ol' nerds, but I'm pretty cool with that.

So I'm curious: are you a regular reader? How did you come across this thing? What caught your interest such that you decided to keep reading? Which topics have been your favorites, or most interesting to you? I know, I'm not exactly broad...

Okay, time for some comment love!

Well, I think it's obvious. I knew the real you and have tried desperately to catch you in lies that appear between your real-self and e-self. I would have succeeded, had it not been for those meddling kids.

Well, I guess it was you that found me some how, and I was drawn in by your creative and compelling writing skill and subject matter. And for the most part, I enjoy most of your blogs, but it is the ones which deepen the mind and intrigue the soul that keep me coming for more.

Procrastination...Boredom...Google... I found your blog while searching Google for my friend Daniel Bailey's website. First I was just intrigued by the massive quantity of writings and then I realized how much substance each entry contained. That plus a little brazen sarcasm and I was hooked.

As you know, I found you some time back through that Creech fellow, bless his Kentuckian catholic monastic not-fly-fishin'-enough heart.

Most of the time I enjoy your sardonic wit, and I appreciate anyone of any age--but especially someone of your age--who is so articulate and already so deep theologically. I appreciate that you are a thinker, that you don't cowtow to "party lines", or spout platitudes, but nearly always have well reasoned arguments behind what you say. And, I'll also mention (last but not least) that I find it quite humorous at times when you sarcastically rant on something from time to time, and occasionally piss a few folks off! That's probably bad of me to like or encourage such behavior.... That particular characteristic of yours is not something I have ever been able to do. I am much too serious for that...so I appreciate the clown sometimes....

These are all the reasons I read and keep reading your blog. Hardly ever a dull post.

Now, go deflate that enlarged head I just gave you. ;)
Peace out

Kyle,

I just learned about your blog a few minutes ago, thanks to your rant on All Too Common. Have added it to my list...

My name is Bryan and I'm a blog addict. I found your blog through the blog "gateway", Alan Creech.

I come here for my daily dose of theology and sarcasm. Both of those things plentifully abound here.

Peace Kyle.

Aw, shucks. Thanks, folks.

Go ahead, Josh, tell everybody that I'm secretly... what?

Naak, I found you when I was doing some blog searches to see who was discussing the Georgetown College/KBC negotiations back in September or so. I'm glad you've seen fit to read and challenge.

Katie, I didn't know you knew Daniel! Was he in Texas or you in Kentucky? I do appreciate your e-mails.

Arlen, thanks for your kind words. I always appreciate your input and encouragement.

CH, glad you found my writings interesting. Welcome to my odd little conversations.

Bryan, I'm always glad of your friendship and kind input.

Thanks everybody.

So am I hearing this correctly? You guys think I'm sarcastic? I usually think of myself as so well-behaved...

I was just blog-browsing, seeing what ideas are out there.

Happy blogging!

I think I surfed in here one fine day from a post you made at titusonenine.

I came across your blog after you posted some comments on mine a long while back. I enjoyed reading it (and still do) though I access it by reading your site feed rather than visiting your blog directly.

I was randomly flipping through blogspot back in 2004 and landed on your blog. Read it off and on till I met you at Snt Patricks. Always liked your stuff and after meeting you & sharing a meal... well I became a regular reader. By regular reader I mean reading your blog around 4x or more a week. Where as before I was an every other week kind of thing.

I don't remember. I think I am beginning to like this whole anglo/catholic thing... but I'm still looking at it...

I find your blogs infromative and your comments on my blog... stimulating, to say the least.

i use an rss reader (Sage for FireFox) to notice your new posts. i read them in the browser - more fun because of comments. i read it because i like your sarcastic attitude (although it hardly is a virtue in the overall sense as we try to come across above everybody else as when we do it). you seem to be smart and have inclinations towards the liturgical/mystical side. i like that too. i found you through +alan/v&b - don't exactly remember which one came first. must have been comments on +alan's blog (yes, commenting pays off).

Aw, thanks, guys. I'm glad you all come here for your procrastination and sarcasm needs. :0)

Should I worry about this sarcasm thing? Am I a whole lot meaner than I think I am?

It should be noted that being mean about singles ministry doesn't count.

so, when are you getting married, dude? :-)

Yikes!

Hmmm, It think it was through clicking on the Patristics link under Interests.

It was probably your dry humor that grabbed me, but the content that kept me returning. During semester time I'd probably read or skim a couple of times a week (procrastination that I could justify as having to do with doing Theology).

Being a Catholic I was also intruiged by the emerging church and the interest or acceptance of many things 'catholic'. It was an intruiging combination having a Baptist beginning and so on.

I don't comment that often but do enjoy it here.

I came across your blog through the kiwi. He put up a picture or ad for an emerging church that I thought was very funny, but it was real. I kept reading because youre incredibly smart and stupidly funny. And I like to boost others egos by agreeing with people I don't really know.

Kyle said...

Hahaha

My ego can always use a boost, if you ask me. Thanks, guys.

Hi... I found your site awhile back (probably through A. Creech); I have stayed because I like what I read here.

I'm a big fan of Athanasius, too. I'm over at http://www.msquaredt.com/blog/.

I am a regular reader (well, not over Christmas break, which is why this is so late). I have no idea where I ran across you; some Google search I think. Actually, I think I was searching for links on the Emerging Church to send to a Southern Baptist friend of mine.

Anyway, I keep reading both because it's alwyas interesting to find another young Anglo-Catholic who's obviously read a lot of N.T. Wright and friends. :-) You're also quite funny, sometimes.

"You're also quite funny, sometimes."

Ha!

If I were half as funny as I think, I'd be doing pretty well. :0)

Thanks, Eric, Matt, Ryan.
