Ummm... I meant I was given the book "Daughter Zion" written by the erstwhile Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger. I did not mean to imply that I was given someone's daughter named Zion, which would constitute either slavery or concubinage, the first of which I know T[p]ECusa has trouble with and the second I suspect we might as well.
come on kyle, i haven't seen any fun posting about the left behind video game, where kids get to slaughter pagan muslims and relegate all surviving women to careers in either nursing or music.
I know that brand of nuttery is irrelevant to your spiritual life, but its always nice to be reminded of the ways in which people are full-on bastardizing and pop-culturalizing the "rapture."
Daughter Zion is good stuff. His book on Mary with Balthasar is less interesting, as it rehashes a lot from that book. I found parts of both frustrating, but Daughter Zion was very worthwhile.
First, Kyle, I'm right with you on not being able to come up with stuff lately (although I did post a couple things in the last few days). I think I've been kind of blogged out for about a month.
Second, Steve, I'm clergy and I have a Darth Vader costume. Does that count?

"The Church claims to be the most comprehensive human society there is - the new human race in embryo. And it claims this because of its belief that it is established not by any human process grounded in and limited by events, cultures and so on, but by God's activity." - Rowan Williams

I was given B16's Daughter Zion for Christmas on Marian doctrine. Starting to sound more and more plausible.
Before I take Benedeto's word for it, maybe you can do a quick Captain Sacrament take.

I guess I want to hear about the Emergent Mary.
Or is that too boring?

Hahaha! That's awesome. I wish I were named after an evil world leader. Preferably some sort of ruthless dictator. I give Peter the tip of the hat.
Now there's ecumenism for you!
Anyone know any clergy with the name Darth Vader?

Hey, Kyle! I was at Canterbury Cathedral yesterday. I looked for Rowan Williams so I could tell him you said hello...
Happy New Year!
